In 1993 the California Chapter was formed to administer a Sponsorship Care Program in Mexico.

The Sponsorship Care Program helps to save lives of poor, malnourished and undernourished children. The program provides spiritual and moral support to the children directly, their families, the neighborhood and the community at large, as well as food, clothing, medical attention and education to the children.

The Children's Sponsorship Care Program is dedicated to Our Lady of Ocotlan, located in Tlaxcala, Mexico, in the Asilo De Nuestro Senora De Ocotlan, A.C. Tlaxcala is 80 miles southeast of Mexico City and is famous for a miraculous appearance of Our Lady to a Mexican peasant. The Asilo is adjacent to the Basilica housing the image of Our Lady of Ocotlan.

The Asilo is a refuge for poor, needy, young girls who might not have a chance for any hope in their lives or might not be alive at all if not for the loving presence and help of the Nuns who staff the orphanage/boarding school.

The chapter Board of Directors administer the program from Southern California:

Charletta Weeks - President
Laurie McKinley - Secretary-Treasurer
Jim McKinley - Director
